Medical pre-op portraits

Documentary, Mercy Ships, portrait

Like I said at the end of last post, about half of my job is taking medical portraits before and after operations for medical records and the cleft lip/palette charity SMILE. Here are a few more examples. In order to emphasize the deformities I’ve put them in black and white. These patients haven’t yet had their post-op photos, and it won’t necessarily be me taking them, but if it is I’ll post them so you can see what a difference is made.

The first few are all facial or thyroid related tumours.

This final portrait shows a cleft palette. The lighting is not so nice because I have to use a front mounted flash to light the palette.
